1. Photography
Photograpghy is at the base of pretty much every digi pack. But photography is a vast medium and can involve using the band, making some art, documenting real life etc. The usual end result of most alubum covers using photography is a clean cut phot of band members in a scene reflecting the theme and mood of the album.
Example: Maroon 5's 'it wont be soon for long'
'

I will be exploring a more general area of photography which will be concentrating on settings and objects that reflect the band, this could mean taking pictures of acoustic guitars, the playmobil characters, autumn settings, street art.
2. SimpleDrawings
Drawings of band members have been popular in album covers since Blur used an artistic painting from Julian Opie for their 'the best of Blur' cover
These are highly effective because of their simplicity and how they're still so different from most covers. To do this ourselves we will be drawing each band member and will then focus on editing the drawings in photoshop and adding colour.
3. Product design inspired
Because of my Product Design background i will be looking into using some printing techniques to develop an album cover that doesn't use a simple square piece of printed card but uses a range of materials and shapes to radically interest the target market. This has been done before and can be seen the iconic album cover 'Very' from the Pet Shop Boys.
