Tim's plan for ancillary Magazine ad

More often than not we find magazine adverts use a very simple layout which can be seen in almost all types of music genres. It consists of primarily a photograph of the artist or band, their ident at the top of the page and the name of the album at the bottom. Excluding the several advertisements of when the album is being released and the record company which are normally placed at the bottom. Most variations of this layout are whether a photograph of the band is being used or the album cover its self.

1. Multilevel idea
I plan to investigate an entirely different root of the magazine advert opening up. This is playing on interactivity and will add another dimension to my magazine advert. I really think adding this extra touch will make the difference because of the usual layout magazine adverts follow can get quite boring and when readers are flicking through the pages of their favourite music magazine a truely diverse and unusual advert is usually what grabs their attention. By breaking this convention I should be able to attract my audience a lot easily.

2. Album art work idea
This rather simple idea relies on simplicity and using a the standard layout to its best ability. By using our band's mood and theme for their debut album I will create some basic artwork for the CD cover and then use it in more depth for a magazine advert. If done well the advert can suit the genre and attract our ellusive audience.
