Alex's Video Analysis 3.

This is Two Door Cinema Club's video to their song Undercover Martyn.

The video is performace based with no narrative included at all. The main selling points of this video is the uniqueness of the band and the way that they move around. This is because they are being held up by other people which means their movements look surreal. As well as this, some of the footage is sped up which enables another unique effect of the band looking like puppets.

The video follows some generic conventions e.g. lip syncing:

The lip syncing focusses the viewers attention on the singers mouth as well as gives them "comfort" that it is really the band singing. The other generic convention it uses it cutting on the beat:

This gives a uniformed rhythm to the video as well as giving the video a way to make different action happen.

The band in this video are the Television Bard because they are the sole thing that are featured making them storytellers for the audience. They are also showing disjunction within the video (Andrew goodwin) for the visuals have no relation to the lyrics for the viewer.
