Evaluation Question 2 Draft - Tim

As the plan is to film the answer to this question I can only show the script for the first part of the answer which is an analysis of my products effectiveness.

Until i have filmed my target market looking at my products and discussing how well they work together i will not be able to film the conclusion of what has been discovered. I will however film the part as soon as possible.

Script:
'With all marketing campaigns for an album a consistent theme is kept through all products. This is all to do with a brand image and establishing a unique feel to a band so that audiences can recognise their style. For example the folk singer Seth Lakeman and his album Poor Man’s Heaven.'

(Show album, tour advert, T-shirt and anymore to camera)

'In most cases this brand image is developed around the artist’s style which is specific to their genre of music and the album artwork. This is why I started by developing my album artwork first. For our band I inevitably had to include an autumn theme which was seen in almost every aspect of the video. To do this I found a leaf graphic and by using the randomised style seen in Hot Chip’s album cover for the warning…'

(Show Hot Chip album)

'I aligned the leaf graphics on the front and back of the CD case to look as unintended as possible thus reflecting the classic image of fallen leaves. With the addition of 2 fonts that reflected the band’s individual and elegant style and the album’s modern busking feel the album artwork was complete. Unfortunately the method of making this album cover didn’t allow me to print onto it so the bleached white of card became the main colour. However this ending up working to my advantage because of the autumn progression into Winter and how much white stands out when combined with black.'

(Show CD case)

'To then carry this onto my magazine advert was harder than previously thought. I originally used an entirely different theme to add some colour and make the autumn theme much more apparent…'

(Show first draft of magazine advert)

'but after being reminded that there had to be some replication from the CD case the only realistic choice was to carry the contrast between white and black. This meant using black as the main colour and white for the text which I believe gives a great connection between the two but doesn’t involve the sometimes dulling feel of white. This classic pairing had to be broken however so I carried the leaf shape over which would help establish a classic image for the band and become part of their brand.'

'But to finish the overall brand look I would have to include something that transcended all products. And that was simply the raw and natural colours found in fallen leaves which were a prominent image from the start of making the products. I did this by making a detailed picture of autumn leaves the very bottom layer of the magazine which in turn gave a similar depth effect that was achieved in the CD case that had cut out sections.'

'These are the responses given by first my target market of young ‘Individual’ teens and a range of people with all different tastes.'

The script above will be spoken by me looking into the camera adressing the audience. The details in brackets are when different footage of the products is shown.
